RedGlow Jump – Cardio Flow

Cardio that leaves your joints alone: in RedGlow Jump you jump lying down against the spring resistance – 50 minutes of pulse, rhythm and leg work on the jumpboard, no more than eight participants.

What is jumpboard Pilates?

A padded board – the jumpboard – is fitted at the foot of the Reformer. You lie on your back, feet on the board – and jump. The carriage moves against the springs, you land softly and are guided back.

The difference from jumping while standing: your body weight does not press on knees, hips and spine. The load comes from the spring resistance, not from gravity. That makes Jump one of the few cardio formats that also work with sensitive joints.

Who is RedGlow Jump for?

For you, if you want to train endurance without running. For you, if classic cardio bores you. And for you, if after an injury or on your way back to sport you need a joint-friendly alternative. A few Reformer classes beforehand are helpful – you should feel at home with the carriage.

How a class runs

We start with mobilisation and core activation – the stability that keeps the format joint-friendly.

Then we work in intervals: jump series to the beat of the music, with strength blocks without the board in between. Foot positions change – parallel, in external rotation, single-leg – and with them the muscle that works.

Towards the end the pulse comes down in a controlled way, and we stretch calves, thighs and hip flexors.

What you get out of it

  • Endurance without impact. Heart and circulation work, the joints don’t hit the floor.
  • Leg and jumping power. The spring resistance trains eccentrically – exactly the phase that stabilises you in everyday life.
  • Coordination and rhythm. Jumping lying down challenges your timing differently from any standing exercise.
  • Fun. It is the format with the most laughter. That is allowed to be an argument.

Red light and near-infrared – included

In Jump, too, every Reformer has its own panel with red light and near-infrared. Near-infrared penetrates deeper into muscle and connective tissue and can support circulation, tissue metabolism and recovery – welcome after a cardio session.

What to bring

Sportswear, grip socks and definitely a water bottle. We provide everything else.

Frequently asked questions about RedGlow Jump

Is it really joint-friendly?

Yes, because you jump lying down. The direction of load is horizontal, not vertical – your weight does not press into the joints. If you have an acute injury, still discuss it with your doctor and your trainer beforehand.

Do I need previous experience?

You should have a few Reformer classes behind you. Handling the carriage and core stability are what make Jump fun instead of exhausting.

How hard is it?

Demanding. You will sweat. The spring tension can be adjusted, though – lighter springs mean more jump height and less resistance, heavier ones the opposite. Your trainer sets it up with you.

Can I combine Jump with other classes?

Very well indeed. One Jump session as the cardio building block next to two strength classes in Power or Sculpt makes a well-rounded week.

What does a class cost?

Single booking or 5, 10 and 20 class cards for all formats. Current prices in the timetable.
