Don't be afraid of the Reformer – Pilates is the perfect entry point for every woman.
You've heard of Reformer Pilates, but find the equipment with the springs and straps a bit intimidating? You're not alone – and we promise you: after the first class, that feeling will be gone. At WeLovePilates in Berlin-Schöneberg, beginners and advanced students train side by side because every exercise adapts to your level. You don't need any prior experience, no special fitness level, and no worries about not being "good enough."
In this article, we'll remove any remaining uncertainty and show you what your start with us looks like.
What is Reformer Pilates – and why is it ideal for beginners?
The Reformer is a training device with a moving carriage and adjustable springs. Instead of heavy weights, you work with gentle, spring-based resistance. The great thing for beginners: the Reformer guides your movement. This allows you to train cleanly, gently, and safely from the very beginning – and still immediately feel your deep muscles working.
This offers three major advantages, especially for beginners:
Safety: The guided movements make incorrect posture almost impossible.
Quick results: After just a few hours you will feel more stability in your back and core.
Individually adjustable: More or less spring tension – your training grows with you.
This is how your first WeLovePilates class will go.
To ensure you arrive relaxed, here's a brief overview of your itinerary:
Arrive and feel at home: Just come a few minutes early. We'll show you the studio and your reformer.
Brief introduction: Our certified trainers will explain the most important techniques to you – without any technical jargon.
Training in a small group: With a maximum of 8 participants, your trainer always has you in sight and corrects you directly.
Your red light included: Each device has its own red light panel – your body trains and regenerates at the same time.
Going out feels like you've just had a short break: refreshed, alert, and with a really good feeling.
What should I wear? And what do I need to bring?
It's very simple: comfortable, close-fitting sportswear and non-slip socks (grip socks). A towel and water are always a good idea – we provide everything else. You don't need your own equipment.
Ladies-only – a room just for you
We are intentionally a boutique studio exclusively for women. No crowds, no pressure to perform, no stares – just you, your small group, and an atmosphere where you can relax and unwind. Soft lighting, great music, and a fresh color scheme ensure that your workout feels more like a boutique hotspot than a typical gym.
Which level is right for me?
For your start, we recommend our beginner level, RedGlow Foundation. Here you'll learn the basics at your own pace, build core strength, and find your own rhythm. If you'd like more of a cardio boost later on, RedGlow Jump is waiting for you. Either way, you decide how quickly you progress.
Right in the heart of Schöneberg – and easy to find.
You can find us at Kolonnenstraße 54, 10829 Berlin, just a few minutes from the Julius-Leber-Brücke S-Bahn station. Whether you're from Schöneberg, Tempelhof, or Kreuzberg – your first Reformer course is just around the corner.
